About Pope & Guthrie Pope & Guthrie met in the late 1980's at Edinburgh College of Art, but did not begin their collaboration until 1995 with the multi-media installation 'Somewhere Over the TV'. This was followed by one the Web's earliest artists' projects - the ground-breaking live online travelogue 'A Hypertext Journal' in 1996 - . A succession of commissions for major institutions followed, including Tate Modern, Grizedale Arts and the Institute of Contemporary Arts (where they were awarded the1999 Imaginaria Digital Art Award). In 2002 Pope & Guthrie produced and curated TV swansong, an innovative live webcast of specially-commissioned artists projects. |
