"I have always been fascinated by journeys and border crossings: the glimpses of people and places seen through coach windows, at train stops and along motorways - the hinterland of traveling. Once my children were born, journeys became shorter - restricted by the length of pre-school legs - often limited to dreams. I began to travel in my imagination, to explore the landscape of my own life, and to write about it. Writing seems like another border crossing and perhaps now is the time to start a new journey."
